The Redhouse Arts Center is offering two year-long sequential learning programs that give participants the opportunity to participate in the creative process of film-making. At the end of the process, the films will be part of a professional screening event at The Redhouse!

The Short-Short Narrative Film Project 
Saturdays: October 22, January 21, March 10, May 19
*Film screening: May (Exact date, TBA)
These workshops allow filmmakers to develop their own short narrative film. The program will be curated by Mark Mocahbee, a professional documentary and narrative filmmaker from the University of Miami! Guest instructors with professional film credits will help Mocahbee lead the intensive workshops and mentor participants through the film-making process. Seminars include screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and post-production.

The “My Life” Documentary Project 
Sundays: October 23, January 22, March 11, May 20
*Screening on May 25 at 6pm
The “My Life” Documentary Project allows teens/college students to create a short documentary film that chronicles their life stories. Students will use hand held Flip cameras to create a cinema verite documentary about a year in their lives.

Crooked Arrows-Lacrosse Movie Auditions took place in Syracuse

“Crooked Arrows” is a story centered on a Native American lacrosse team making its way through a prep school league tournament.  Starring Brandon Routh from “Superman Returns”.

Oneida Nation puts up $10 million to do film about Oneidas, Revolutionary War

“The $10 million budget for the movie, which will begin filming this fall, is being paid by the Oneidas. All of the American Indian roles, including the lead roles, will be played by American Indians. Virtually all of the movie will be filmed on location in Oneida County, on Oneida lands or at Revolutionary War sites.”

Syracuse native Bob “Bobcat” Goldthwait returns to Syracuse to shoot for his new film!

“Yesterday, July 23rd, Syracuse native Bob “Bobcat” Goldthwait shot two scenes for his new film “God Bless America” in downtown Syracuse. The film stars Joel Murray, Tara Lynne Barr and Mackenzie Brooke Smith, it is being released by “Darko Entertainment”. The film should be ready to hit the festival circuit this Fall.”
