We are looking for a confident, comedic woman to play the lead role in our upcoming indie film “Wake Up, Liz Dandy”.
This initial casting will be for a teaser trailer to be shot in Rochester this fall. Once the trailer is finished, we will be in full force pushing towards shooting the feature in Rochester in 2012.

The title role, Liz Dandy, is a Caucasian woman between 25-30 years old. Liz is a young actress who returns to her home town to star in the remake of a classic zombie film. In doing so she is also returning to broken relationships and old habits. The ideal Liz will be someone who can wear multiple hats. First and foremost; Liz is a sarcastic, funny, and determined person. She has quick, witty banter with everyone she speaks with, and is always poking fun at people. As a comedy/drama/horror movie, we are looking for someone who is able to think quickly on their feet, be clever, be spontaneous, and be ready for anything. Think “Garden State” meets “Shaun of the Dead”.

We are hoping to find someone who will read this script, fall in love with it, and be ready and willing to grow with us in order to create Liz Dandy. Starting June 6th, “King of the Neighborhood”, written and directed by Joe Basla, will begin shooting and some actors/actresses are still needed. This is an independent, full feature comedy that will be premiering in Syracuse in mid to late August. Prior experience isn’t necessary, but as always, auditioning is required.

Recording artist in Syracuse is seeking a female actress age 18-24 for a spot in a music video this summer.  This project is sponsored by Fierce Little Records and 4 Directions Productions.  This is a non-speaking role, however you must be able to portray emotion well without the use of voice.  Interested applicants please send acting resume along with a current headshot.  You will be required to be available one weekend in late June/early July.

We are casting a heavy set boy between the ages of 7-14 to play the role of the grandson in a short film about the relationship between a Grandson and Grandfather.

We are shooting this weekend April 15-17 in the Syracuse/Manlius area and monetary compensation will be offered.

This is a student film intended for academic purposes but may be submitted to some festivals as well.

Local production company is holding auditions for our latest project.

Available Roles:

DRUG BUYER #1 (Male): Scripted character who approaches our main character to purchase quality drugs. Scripted lines.

3-4 VARIOUS BUYERS (Male/Female): These characters approach the main character on the street and purchase drugs from him. Unscripted. Improvisational skills desired.

DEALER #2 (Male): Among a group of druggies squatting in a warehouse sitting around a couch doing hard drugs. Scripted lines.

5-6 DRUG USERS (Male/Female): A group of druggies squatting in a warehouse sitting around a couch doing hard drugs. Unscripted. Improvisational skills desired.

STREET WALKER/HOOKER (Female 20’s): A hooker walking around the street has an altercation with main character. Scripted lines.

APPARITIONS (M/F): Illusions the dealers sees in shadows, etc. after doing some nasty stuff. No lines.

The final project will be a very short Anti-Drug Public Service Announcement. This is not a student film, and we are seeking quality character actors. Though the final product will be very short in length, and speaking lines are limited, our hope is to fill even the smallest role with convincing talent that can portray the characters in a realistic and believable manner.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday April 12. 4-8pm
